AWWA Offers Seminar On Water Rates
July 27, 2010
On September 29 – October 1, the American Water Works Association (AWWA) will host the Financial Management: Cost of Service Rate-Making Seminar in Denver, CO. Financial management, capital finance planning, and rate setting have become critical tasks that demand reliable financial tools.
This three-day course is AWWA's best-selling seminar, and it uses time-honored strategies to teach attendees how to be precise and correct when setting rates. Instructors will discuss balancing the escalating costs of operational and infrastructure improvements, expanding regulatory and environmental forces from government and public interest groups, and public demand for clean and affordable water.
The popular seminar will be a valuable opportunity for water utility staff. Attendees will learn to develop defendable policies, evaluate financial policies and rate impacts, set fair revenue requirements, and much more.
Seminar presenters include:
- Thomas E. Gould, National Technical Director of Finance and Rates, HDR Engineering
- Todd Cristiano, Manager of Rates Administration, Denver Water
