PB Developing Congestion Pricing Plan For Los Angeles

Los Angeles, CA - Parsons Brinckerhoff (PB) has been awarded a contract to develop a congestion pricing plan for Los Angeles County, the most congested region in the United States.

The project will develop a regional plan for congestion pricing that is technically feasible and acceptable to the public. It will address congestion pricing alternatives that can be implemented in conjunction with other solutions, including travel demand management and transit improvements. PB will manage the project for the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro), bringing to Metro its national and international experience addressing the policy, technical and community needs surrounding congestion pricing.

This will be the first time congestion pricing has been implemented in Los Angeles County, and one of the largest applications in the United States. Metro's plans to develop a congestion pricing plan have attracted national attention, including a pledge of $213M from U.S. Department of Transportation to help implement the plan, upon legislative approval.
