Fecon, Inc.ly soil enrichments to steep slopes, forest areas, and other terrain where accessibility and/or damage to the vegetation is a problem, the compost spreader consists of a blower/impeller combination attached to the rear of a hopper-type body with a conveyor drag chain incorporated in the bottom. The blower, consisting of a three-bladed fan inside a housing, and the conveyor are driven hydraulically from an auxiliary engine. It is designed to disperse material up or down slopes and over 200 ft horizontally. A hydraulic cylinder attached to the deflector controls the discharge angle of the material from the blower.

This system can be used in stabilizing roadsides, neutralizing acidic lakes and ponds, reclamation of strip mines, and disposing of municipal sludge and compost. A variety of soil enrichment products can be spread from this unit, including processed bark, wood chips, sawdust, lime, fertilizer, sewage sludge, papermill sludge, flyash, compost, chicken or turkey litter, feedlot manure, and soil. It can also be used for seeding with the addition of a carrying agent, and can be trailer or truck mounted.
