N/Aany%> has developed the dewatering flight skimmer (DFS) in both primary and secondary sedimentation tanks. It was designed for plants that experience trouble with scum accumulation. It can be used in tanks where observation of the skimmer is difficult.
The skimmer is made up of a beaching plate and a fixed "U" shaped trough. The trough can be fitted with a helical screw for positive, direct discharge to a container or an open trough can utilize a spray wash system for conveying the scum to a pit.
