Pipe-Bursting Process

The HydroBurst HB3038 and HB5058 are designed specifically for gas and water rehabilitation. The systems' down-hole unit design permits rods to be shuttled in both directions to allow two bursts from one setup. Both systems' operator stations can be removed for easy setup and their receiving cages are lightweight and hand-placeable to receive tooling at the end of the burst.

Each system comes with a standard tooling package that includes pin-joint tooling which makes connecting new pipe to the rod easy and allows a smaller launch pit. Optional 1 3/8-in. rods fit through pipe with inside diameters as small as 2 in. or larger. All rods are designed so that they can be forced through heavily incrusted, damaged, or collapsed lines.

Standard packages are designed to handle fractureable materials. Special splitting heads are available that allow the HB5058 to handle ductile iron and steel.
