The VersaMax family of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and I/O offers a compact control solution that can accommodate expanding water and wastewater applications
GE Intelligent Platformsx family of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and I/O offers a compact control solution that can accommodate expanding water and wastewater applications from sludge processing and grit removal to pumping and lift station management. At 77mm, the PLC can be used for stand alone or distributed control applications up to 256 I/O. It supports floating point math, a remote terminal unit slave protocol and a variety of analog options. This family of products can automatically detect protocols, allowing the user to program the system over a supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) network that uses Modbus RTU. Multiple serial ports simplify connection to the RTU and operator interface. A real-time clock affords accurate data logging to a human machine interface or centralized plant-wide system.

The system offers plug-and-play simplicity and autoconfiguration for automatic recognition of system changes and additions. It also permits hot insertion, allowing users to add and remove I/O modules from their bases while a process is running and without affecting field wiring. Each snap-together module mounts on a DIN rail in a rackless design that connects up to eight modules per CPU.
