Fresh off the heels of recognition from E Source as the top “game-changing technology of 2013,” Transformative Wave shares in another top industry award from the country’s leading utility organization.

Kent, WA (PRWEB) - Transformative Wave, developer of the CATALYST, North America’s leading efficiency solution for constant volume HVAC systems, is proud to have been considered the top technology deployment of 2013 in an award presented to Snohomish County Public Utility District (PUD). The Association of Energy Service Providers (AESP) presented the award to the PUD on January 28, 2013, at its National Conference in San Diego, Calif. This recognition is particularly special to Transformative Wave as its partnership with the PUD goes back many years with a broad range of installations of the CATALYST solution throughout Snohomish County.

“Snohomish PUD was the very first utility in the nation to offer an incentive for CATALYST installations over four years ago,” said Danny Miller, President of Transformative Wave. “We have a great deal of respect for the dedicated team of professionals at the PUD as they have demonstrated a leadership position that has paved the way for other utilities across the country to embrace the CATALYST and eIQ products in commercial and industrial programs. We are extremely flattered that they nominated the CATALYST program with Transformative Wave for this award. They deserved this recognition from their peers for their willingness to take a chance on an emerging technology before it had been validated by so many third parties.”

In its submission, the PUD highlighted that over the course of four years, 57 commercial customers throughout Western Washington installed the CATALYST technology. A total of 366 units are benefiting from the promised energy savings of the CATALYST. Furthermore, many have already recovered their investment. The CATALYST is an energy efficiency upgrade for existing rooftop HVAC systems. These systems are used to condition 69% of the nation’s cooled commercial floor space, which are typically oversized. The CATALYST is a retrofit upgrade that bundles numerous innovative efficiency techniques in an easy-to-install pre-wired kit. It is making a big difference in the Northwest and other markets across the U.S. by reducing overall HVAC energy use of these systems by 25% to 50%.

“As the very first utility in the country to fund a CATALYST project, Snohomish County PUD has watched Transformative Wave grow from a local Northwest start-up with an idea into one of the industry's rising stars,” said Suzanne Frew, PUD Energy Efficiency Manager. “They are creating a wave of market transformation with their CATALYST technology.”
