The patent pending LemTec Covered Lagoon Activated Sludge System (CLASS) consists of a lagoon based activated sludge process that utilizes the company's Modular Cover System to enhance process characteristics by insulating the pond for wastewater heat retention and odor control. With a small footprint, the system can be used for improving effluent limits while minimizing detention time. Municipal wastewater facilities have the ability to achieve 10 BOD/10 TSS/1 NH3 at any temperature.

This product includes a floating cover solution for providing insulation, odor containment and/or algae control. The closed cell insulation design increases process efficiency maintaining consistent operating temperatures. High water temperatures promote increased biological activity. With the pond completely covered, sunlight cannot reach the water surface, eliminating algae production and trapping odors.

The simple, one-basin design is incorporated to produce high quality effluent results. The system requires minimal operator attention. Because of the low design mixed liquor and longer sludge age, it can provide for a wide range of hydraulic and biological loading variations without consequences.

The system design can be modified to accomplish Biological Nutrient Removal (BNR) options. This two-stage lagoon based activated sludge process contains an anoxic zone to achieve Biological Nutrient Removal.
