These geogrids are interwoven structures made of high modulus polyester yarns (PET), and covered by a protective layer of PVC. They are manufactured to allow their high tensile forces to be mobilized at low strains. The material can be used in a range of applications including reinforced slopes, retaining walls, landslide repairs, noise barriers, earth dams, road/railroad/airfield foundations, unpaved roads, and haul roads. The material resists chemical and biological attack normally occurring in soils, and the PVC coating provides additional protection against UV and mechanical damage.

The interlocking effect is influenced by the mesh size of a geogrid, the local soil and its grading. There are two standard mesh sizes. The material is designed to develop a high bond with the surrounding soil, making short anchor lengths being needed, and reducing the risk of stress cracking. Units are available in a standard width of 3.70m and a length of 200 m. They can be produced up to a width of 5.00 m. Smaller roll dimensions are also available.
