Inflatable Backup Seal

John Crane 73 inflatable backupseal is used primarily to hold back stock and other process fluids, without leakage, while repairs are made to the primary seal, bearings and other equipment components during upset conditions or scheduled maintenance. This seal eliminates the need to drain the tank or system first before repairs. It employs a simple design with minimal parts. The unit is typically used with split seals, and can be used on agitators or mixers in stock chests, vessels and large tank services.
