Collins Instrument Company, Inc.tilized in applications with lined pipe where a grounding device may be required, the company's series of isolating flanges are designed to allow the user to ground-out unwanted signals. Units can be either polypropylene or PVDF in sizes from ¼-in. to 36-in., with in-stock sizes up to six-in., and are available in both 150# and 300# ANSI ratings. Applications such as magnetic flowmeters are capable of grounding out signals that may be contained in the fluid and cause inaccuracies in the readings. Each unit is equipped with a metal insert whose tip contacts the flowing medium. The one-in. thick flange features a Monel insert with the wetted portion of this insert tipped in tantalum. Other flange inserts can be custom-tipped with exotic metals including Hastelloy B&C, titanium, zirconium, Monel, and platinum.
