Landfill Control Technologies (LANDTEC) designed the GEM-500 to use on landfills to monitor landfill gas migration control systems, gas extraction systems, flares, migration probes, LEL levels subsurfaces fires, and more.

The monitor integrates nine field instruments with an on-board computer. It is equipped with a monitor that provides landfill technicians with different analysis and computation functions. The results can then be stored, printed and later down-loaded to a personal computer to provide data management.
