Mt. Fury Company, Inc.ofiler is a automatic sludge blanket level detector that works by lowering an optical suspended solids sensor into a clarifier or thickener. Twenty suspended solids measurements are taken between the water's surface and the bottom of the clarifier, the exact location of the sludge blanket is determined, and the sensor is retracted. By minimizing the amount of time the sensor stays in the process, algae growth on the sensor is nearly eliminated. A fail safe interlock employing both a timer and a limit switch synchronizes the measurements with the rake position, protecting the sensor and cable from the passing rakes.
