These two new leak detection kits help technicians start using fluorescent leak detection, a method designed to pinpoint all leaks in air conditioning and refrigeration systems.

Spectroline leak detection finds leaks in all types of HVAC/R equipment. The service technician adds AR-GLO fluorescent dye into the system, where it mixes with the lubricant and circulates with the refrigerant. Wherever the refrigerant escapes, so does the dye, which remains at each and every leak site. When the system is inspected with a high-intensity ultraviolet lamp, the dye glows a bright yellow-green to show the precise location of the leaks.

Each kit features one of two patented TITAN UV/Blue lamps. The TLK-100 kit contains the TITAN TL-100/12 flashlight-style lamp. It has an inspection range of up to 20 ft., making it best suited for large AC&R systems such as supermarkets, chillers and commercial rooftop units. The TLK-50 kit is built around the TITAN TL-50/12 compact lamp. It has an inspection range of up to 2 ft., and its 16.2-cm length makes it well suited for spotting leaks in small systems including ice machines, window A/C units and water coolers.
