Terra-Mulch Tacking Agent III contains the known flocculant polyacrylamide (PAM). In 1994, Tacking Agent III was evaluated by a major turf university to determine its value as a soil stabilizer. Tack III was applied alone at a rate of 60 lbs per acre on a 45% slope. The test plots were subjected to simulated rainfall of 12 inches per hour for 30 minutes, the simulation took place within 2 hours of seeding. Tacking Agent III reduced erosion versus the control by 68.8% and reduced water runoff by 21.7%. Tacking Agent III contains a marker dye for easy metering of the sprayed area when tacking hay and straw mulches.
Tacking Agent III becomes slippery when wet. Clean up all spills thoroughly.

Terra-Mulch Tacking Agent III truly is a tackifier for the 21st century! Tacking Agent III reduces erosion, water runoff and paper maché effect of fiber mulches, while improving seed to soil contact, turf coverage and germination during heat stress conditions. Armed with testimonials from grassing contractors from across the country, we decided to have our product independently evaluated by a major turf university to prove its unique stabilizing effect.

Test Conditions

45% slope, simulated rainfall rate 12 inches per hour for 30 minutes. Test performed within 2 hours of seeding. Tacking Agent III: Applied at a rate of 60 lbs. acre. Control: No mulch or tackifier applied.

Results

Tacking Agent III reduced erosion by 68.6% and reduced water runoff by 21.7% versus the control.
These results are remarkable considering that Tacking Agent III hadn't had time to cure prior to being subjected to the high rate of rainfall.
