VX500 Photo Ionization Detector

The VX500 PhotoIonization Detector (PID) provides the ultimate flexibility in portable detection of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The VX500 utilizes a field replaceable, plug-in detector and interchangeable 10.6 eV or 11.7 eV lamps to monitor potentially hazardous compounds including benzene, toluene, xylene, and vinyl chloride at levels as low as 100 parts per billion (ppb). Sixty-nine factory loaded response factors allow you to tune the display reading to a particular target gas while a user programmable list of five favorite factors provides easy access to your most commonly encountered hazards. Use of an optional chemical filter permits continuous benzene specific detection. All monitors feature a standard back-lit dot-matrix display, and high intensity audible/ visual alarms. The VX500 is a compact 26 oz. and is housed in an impact resistant ABS composite, providing optimum EMI and RFI shielding. An internal pump capable of drawing remote gas samples from up to 100 feet away makes the VX500 ideal for confined space entry testing, leak assessments, arson investigations and hazardous materials response monitoring. Users can choose from rechargeable lithium ion batteries, providing up to 18 hours of run time, or replaceable alkaline batteries, yielding up to 7 hours of continuous monitoring. The VX500 also offers simple one-button calibration, TWA and STEL readings with peak-hold memory, and time delay power button to prevent unintentional monitor shut-off. Datalogging features include memory for up to 1,800 readings, iButton® data input, and customizable recording intervals between 1 sec. to 5 mins.
