Mosquito Magnet is a biting insect trap that mimics a large mammal by converting propane gas to carbon dioxide, heat, and moisture. The insects are attracted to the carbon dioxide, and are vacuumed into the unit's disposable net where they dehydrate and die. A standard 20-lb. Propane tank lasts three weeks, burning 24 hours a day before it needs a refill. No electricity or batteries are required. According to the manufacturer, this technology is being used residentially, publicly and privately, and in applications that draw insects, such as wastewater treatment.
