Woolpert Acquires Mountain Surveying And Mapping, Inc.

Denver, CO — Woolpert, Inc. recently announced the acquisition of Mountain Surveying and Mapping, Inc. (MSM), a full-service surveying firm.

Rex Cowden, President/CEO of Woolpert says, "Woolpert and MSM have successfully worked together on projects for over six years. When working together, things just seem to fit; everyone gets along, and the results are always mutually rewarding."

Cowden goes on to say the reason for the acquisition was simple; it was a growth strategy. "We wanted to establish a surveying group in Woolpert's Denver office. Instead of building from scratch, we thought merging a great firm like MSM into Woolpert would be the best way to make it happen."

Founded in 1991, MSM is headquartered in Denver, Colorado. During the past decade, MSM's work has expanded to a majority of the United States. They offer expertise in global positioning system (GPS), land, and transportation surveying and have extensive project experience with the Colorado Department of Transportation, the Federal Aviation Administration, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District, the National Geodetic Survey and numerous other public and private agencies.

According to Tom Mochty, PS, Woolpert Senior Vice President of Surveying, "Through our previous working relationship with MSM, we have learned that we share common business philosophies and client types. We are excited to be joining forces to leverage those common interests in order to provide more value and services to our clients throughout the region."
