Metal Detector For Buried Utility Boxes

Fisher Research Laboratory has introduced a new valve, pedestal and box locator¾the M-96. This product is said to offer the utility industry an uncomplicated detector for finding paved-over or buried metallic objects.

The entire operation of the unit has been reduced to two control knobs and a push button. When the search coil passes over a buried metallic object, a "beep" sounds and a meter alerts the operator. When a button is pushed, the instrument goes into a no-motion mode to pinpoint the exact location of the buried utility box, valve, pedestal or manhole cover.

The M-96 features a waterproof search coil and state-of-the-art surface-mount electronics in a sealed control housing. The entire assembly is rain-proof, splash-proof and dust-proof and features a foam-grip handle and forearm support.
