The UMC 800 Universal Multiloop Controller provides integrated loop and logic control for small to medium-sized unit processes. Its separate operator interface features a color LCD with an array of pre-formatted displays, and is available with an optional floppy drive for data storage. It features a Windows 95/NT-based software tool for graphic configuration of control strategies using function blocks. The software also integrates the unit's operator interface configuration to simplify display setup and customization. Modem capability allows remote monitoring and upload/download of controller configurations.
Other features include up to 16 analog control loops, up to 116 I/O, four setpoint programmers, a setpoint scheduler with multiple ramp/soak outputs, an extensive assortment of pre-defined analog and digital function blocks, stored profiles and recipes, and Modbus communications. It is a suitable control choice for applications including furnaces, environmental chambers, ovens, reactors, cookers, dryers, extruders, blenders, reactors, fermenters, boilers and other processes with similar control requirements.
