METERSIZER software automatically calculates the annual revenue increase or decrease associated with any meter
METERSIZER software automatically calculates the annual revenue increase or decrease associated with any meter sizing decision. Operation is simple and automated once a user has entered utility specific default information such as the water cost for each rate class, wastewater rates, minimum/fixed charges, and meter purchase costs. The software uses industry standard accuracy ranges and accuracy factors for positive displacement, turbine, and compound meters. These default values may easily be edited if desired. Once the default values have been entered, the user simply imports a downloaded Model 100EL data file, a comma separated value (CSV) file if the data was recorded using other hardware, or enters the data manually. If desired, a seasonal adjustment may be performed by entering a year of billing records. The user can then view the projected accounted-for water level for each type and size meter option, the annual revenue increase/decrease associated with each sizing option, the payback period associated with each sizing option, and the percentage of flow below, within, and above the "normal" flow range for each type and size meter.

A meter's "normal" flow range is defined as the range for which a given type and size meter is designed for long-term, accurate registration. Flow below this range will suffer from under-registration; excessive flow above this range will cause meter degradation.
