The ACS 400 adjustable-speed AC drive was introduced at WEFTEC '98.
The series is available in a NEMA 1 enclosure with a NEMA 12 option in two models: one can operate motors from 3-30 horsepower at 200-240 VAC; and on can operate motors from 3-50 horsepower at 380 – 480 VAC.
The product utilizes microprocessor control and IGBT power switching technology. The power structure includes firmware and software for wastewater applications, such as return- and waste-activated-sludge pumps. It includes a standard PID (Proportional, Integral, Derivative) controller for operating a commercial or industrial process. Other features include a ModBus serial communications, seven preset speeds, two programmable relay outputs, a programmable analog output, two analog inputs that may be set for voltage or current input, flying start into a spinning motor, and a 30-character alpha-numeric display.
