In the first of two versions currently available, the blinking LEDs flash on a continuous 24/7 cycle. The other version's photocell/solar unit turns the unit on during conditions of darkness, activating the circuit at full twilight. Several sizes are available.
BlinkerStop can be a real life-saver. It alerts drivers much further in advance than conventional signs, especially at night when 80% of all serious accidents occur. This is particularly important in light of the increasing number of older drivers with reduced vision and reactions.
BlinkerStop is totally self-contained and self-powered. It offers tremendous installation and energy savings over signals, using its own solar panel to charge the high-tech Nickel-Metal Hydride battery. Remote installations are no problem because there is no need to run power to the site. Its ease of installation on any type of post allows for temporary as well as permanent installations, and it is independent of power outages.
BlinkerStop is recommended anywhere that enhancing the visibility and recognizability of a STOP sign improves safety. This including new STOP sign locations, high-accident areas, blind and reduced-visibility intersections, pedestrian crossings, work zones and parking lots. TAPCO is in the process of developing other LED signs for different applications.
