Stantec's bridge engineering consultants have designed nearly every conceivable type of bridge, crossing a variety of geographic settings. We have successfully completed projects from major crossings such as the 13 km long Confederation Bridge in Prince Edward Island, Canada, to major freeways and interstate interchanges, to rural standard bridges and culverts.

We integrate planning, design and construction functions from conception through to operations, all within the client's objectives of schedule, quality and cost. We carefully analyze environmental demands, structural options, construction procedures, and local market conditions to create the most economical and functional solution for each project.

Our bridge specialists provide services in system and project-level planning studies, inspection, load-rating, strengthening, contract administration, and design-build contracts. We also develop maintenance programs and offer comprehensive specially designed, or off-the-shelf training programs in all areas of bridge management.

As well, we provide expertise on a variety of bridge-related structural issues including bridge rehabilitation and investigations. Our association with various research institutes and universities enables us to provide innovative solutions to rehabilitation problems. This includes the use of advanced materials such as or aramid fiber sheets, "steel-free" bridge decks and remote monitoring of bridges.

Our clients include government agencies, international funding/development organizations, bridge maintenance departments, and transportation departments throughout Canada and the United States, Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
