The PowerTech 4.5L engine provides heavy-duty crankshafts and bearings, gear-type oil pumps, full-length balancers, rugged connecting rods, and replaceable wet cylinder liners. The dynamically balanced crankshaft is constructed of heat-treated ductile iron for strength, and the forged-steel connection rods feature a 45° design that allows the use of larger crankshaft-connecting-rod bearings for durability. An adjustable poly-vee-fan drive offers application flexibility. A standard gear auxiliary drive provides up to 50 hp for gear-driven accessories. This unit offers inline injection pump capability, front engine mounts in addition to current mounting points, either side service for easy installation, and optional engine-balancer shafts. Systems are available from 80 to 140 hp.
