N/Afor potable water color measurement, the Model AF21 Long Pathlength Dual Beam Sensor is designed to offer sensitivity to small changes of absorbance in liquid passing through it. The sensor and its associated transmitter are compact and do not rely upon the addition of chemicals and reagents for color determination. The principle of measurement used in this system is absorbance of light by the process stream. A high-energy lamp is used to project light through the liquid flowing in the sensor and a dual beam detector arrangement opposite the light source monitors the amount of light passing through the flowcell. Signals from the detectors are sent to an attached transmitter for scaling and retransmission.
This system includes a traceable calibration filter for measurement accuracy verification. Within the detector housing, a mechanism can be operated to swing a filter into the received light beam causing an artificial reading on the instrument. These sensors and their associated transmitters are CE approved.
