Eriez Wins Large Order From RPM Recycling

Eriez

Eriez, a leader in the recycling industry, announces that RPM Recycling recently purchased a 90-inch wide ProSort Metal Sorter and a 60-inch wide FinesSort Separator. Al Gedgaudus, Eriez Recycling Product Manager, reports that the package price for the equipment purchased exceeded $500,000.

RPM will utilize both pieces of equipment at its scrap yard near Allentown, Pennsylvania. According to Gedgaudus, Steve Hilliard of PennQuip, the Eriez representative in the Allentown area, was instrumental in promoting the new separators to RPM. Mike Shattuck and Rod Palombo of Eriez will work closely with RPM to integrate these units into their process.

The deal was finalized when representatives from RPM visited Eriez' Erie, Pennsylvania headquarters to meet with Eriez engineers, technicians and executives.

About the Equipment

ProSort Airless Separator
ProSort improves metal separation, providing a clean product in one pass, while functioning at a fraction of the cost of air power metal sorters. Two further benefits include the reduction in monitoring compared to air sorters and an improvement in plant air quality with less dust reduction. Ideal for the scrap metals market, the patent-pending ProSort airless metal recovery system uses high sensitivity metal sensors aligned with low energy electromagnetically driven paddles to separate valuable metals from waste material. ProSort's unique modular design and alignment of sensors, paddles and controls allows the components to operate in different modes during a single cycle. Dual mode segregates waste material, ferrous metals, nonferrous and stainless steel in a single operation.

With ProSort's electromagnetic "Six Pack" paddle system, operators save up to 75 percent of the cost of running a typical 125 HP air compressor plant.

FinesSort
Eriez' new FinesSort Metals Recovery System is the ultimate in fine particle metal reclamation. FinesSort's series of powerful magnetic components recover valuable ferrous and non-ferrous metals from the fines waste stream in scrap yards. This system not only reduces the amount of waste destined for landfill, but reclaims thousands of pounds of metals per day.

FinesSort receives the discarded "fines" material that has passed through the initial screening process and separates the ferrous and non-ferrous from the fines waste.

With FinesSort, operators can recover metals less than 1-inch in size. Plus, payback on the investment can be achieved in as little as six months.

Eriez' Metal Recovery Systems reclaim and segregate valuable metals from discarded materials heading for landfill. Through the addition of Eriez ProSort and FinesSort Metal Recovery Systems, scrap handlers can recover nearly 90 percent of the metals passing through their yards, AND segregate that metal to maximize its value.
