The VoSmart valve is a hydraulically-operated flow control valve designed to prevent the entrainment of air in injection or aquifer storage and recovery wells. The valve installs in the column pipe and sits below the dynamic water level to control injection pressure, flow rate, and mounding effects, while eliminating the cascading of water that can lead to air-fouling or calcite formation.

The valve can be installed above a submersible pump, below the pumps of a vertical turbine pump for co-generation applications or above the pump bowls by passing the pump shaft through the full port interior of the valve.

During recharge, this allows the flow to pass through the valve and out the ports rather than through the pump bowls.
