Gilbane Completes Work On Fleming Park In South Hampton Area Of Houston

The 80+ year old park received much needed renovations

Houston, TX (PRWEB) - Gilbane was asked to help support the Friends of Fleming Park with the management of several enhancements to the 80+ year old Fleming Park located in the heart of the South Hampton area of Houston. The Gilbane team reviewed the planned work, provided value engineering suggestions and developed a conceptual budget.

“The Fleming Park project is a great asset for the South Hampton area and Gilbane is proud to continue our relationship with the City of Houston as well as give back to the communities in which we work, live and play,” says Dan Gilbane, Southwest Division Leader for Gilbane Building Company.

Gilbane partnered with Chris Southworth of Ruppert Landscape for the finalization of design details, pricing and the execution of work. The project included the installation of new swings, fall zones, park benches, and the renovation of existing park benches, playground equipment and monuments. The project was funded through fundraising efforts of the Friends of Fleming Park and pro bono services were provided by Gilbane and Ruppert Landscaping.

“The Friends of Fleming Park have enjoyed many years working together with the Houston Parks and Recreation Department and the Houston Parks Board and, most recently, with Bob Harper at Gilbane and Chris Southwell at Ruppert Landscaping,” says Karen Baughn, Friends of Fleming Park. “We are grateful for everyone’s efforts in making this project so successful and are all extremely happy with the results.”

Tom Gall, project manager with Houston Parks Board, agreed going on to say, “Houston Parks Board appreciates the dedication and generosity of both Gilbane and Ruppert Landscaping to assist in these improvements to Fleming Park. It was a job well done.”
