Known as glued polystyrene porous block, the panel is ASTM tested and is said to provide permanent permeability efficiency to 40 ft with lateral pressures to 1,600 lb/ft2 (80 kPa). The panel protects waterproofing systems and structures from damage during backfill operations, will not puncture, deform or injure critical waterproofing membranes, offers relief of hydrostatic pressure, and adds insulation value (R = 3.5 per in. –dry, ASTM C-518) to below-grade interior space. No special storage areas or equipment is needed for installation, and mechanical fastening is also eliminated. The product has a uniform thickness and quality for predictable drainage characteristics. It can also be used for thermal insulation and transmission of ground-borne gases.
