Manhattan Construction Company To Build New Multi-Purpose Ballpark For Texas Rangers

Oklahoma-based Manhattan Construction Company has been selected as construction manager for the new multi-purpose ballpark for the Texas Rangers Baseball Club in Arlington, Texas. The groundbreaking ceremony was held September 28, officially kicking off construction of Globe Life Field.

Arlington, TX (PRWEB) - The new 42,000-seat major league ballpark is a public-private partnership between the Texas Rangers and the City of Arlington. It will be a multi-use entertainment and sports facility with a retractable roof and other related infrastructure.

“There was great interest and competition for the General Contractor’s role to build our new ballpark. However, at the end of the interviews and qualification process, one firm stood out above the rest, and that was Manhattan Construction,” said Rangers Executive Vice President of Business Operations Rob Matwick. “We’re fortunate to have a world class company like Manhattan in our own backyard. As a builder, Manhattan prides itself on its ability to lead these complex fast track projects, which result in some of the most iconic buildings in the world. We’re thrilled to partner with the Manhattan team to deliver a new, state of the art ballpark in the City of Arlington for our fans and players.”

Manhattan Construction Company first worked for the Rangers organization in 1994 when they built the Texas Rangers’ current home, Globe Life Park in Arlington. For their work on that project, Manhattan received the Associated Builders and Contractors National Award of Excellence. Since that time, the company completed five renovation/upgrade projects on the ballpark, and built the ballpark’s high-profile neighbor, AT&T Stadium in Arlington, home of the Dallas Cowboys.

“It has been a privilege serve the Texas Rangers throughout the years and we are honored to have been selected to build their new word-class ballpark for their fans,” said John Reyhan, president of Manhattan Construction Company. “We strive to truly understand our client’s business goals and serve as a business partner they can count on for any project, large or small.”

In addition to sports projects, Manhattan’s portfolio is diverse in terms of project size and type, including new construction and renovation of hospitals, airports, education, cultural, commercial, hospitality, government, entertainment, mixed-use and multi-unit living projects.

Manhattan Construction is ENR Texas & Louisiana’s 2017 Contractor of the Year, a seven-time recipient of the STEP Diamond honor, a top safety honor of the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), and a winner of the 2016 ABC National Safety Excellence Award and of the 2016 Associated General Contractors (AGC) Construction Safety Excellence Award.

The stadium is currently in design by HKS Architects. The first phase of construction began in August 2017 with the relocation of a sanitary sewer line, which is expected to take three to four months for completion.
