Pipe Protection Program

Cathodic protection is a solution that is applied to a variety of buried metallic structures to extend their life and help prevent breakage. Galvanized anodes are strategically placed on existing cast and ductile iron water mains. The anode discharges current to the pipe, causing the anode to corrode instead of the pipe.

The BRLE program goes beyond cathodic protection. It is also a preventative infrastructure management program developed specifically for water utilities. Through this program, the company collects field data, examines leak histories and uses computer technology to identify weaknesses or hot spots. They help users prioritize areas that present the highest risk for leaks, so they can allocate human and financial resources when they're needed.
