Global Sensor Systems, Inc. the rear of snowplows, the company's heated sensor system is designed to automatically activate the vehicle's brakes when an object is detected while backing up. The system is turned on when the gear shift lever is put in reverse. If an object is detected backing up, the brakes are applied automatically. It can work with hydraulic or airs brakes. An audible Sonalert and large red light on the control box alerts the driver when an object is detected. The sensors, weigh six ounces and can function in temperatures to –40° F. Generally three are mounted on the rear of the snowplow to cover the entire width of the plow. One sensor will cover approximately three ft of area in width and reach close to four ft out.
