The Solvent Safety Database, distributed on CD-ROM, covers more than 4,300 solvents and solvent-containing compounds from chemical manufacturers. A Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) is supplied for each entry. The MSDS information is extracted from the Department of Defense's Hazardous Material Information System.

The MSDS includes all required MSDS fields: General Information; Ingredients/Identity Information; Physical/Chemical Characteristics; Fire and Explosion Data; Reactivity Data; Health Hazard Data; Handling and Use Precautions; Control Measures; Transportation Data; Disposal Data; and Label Data.

The database features more than 24,000 pages of information in Portable Document Format (PDF). A full-text index is provided to allow instant search and retrieval using Adobe and Acrobat reader software that is included for Windows, Mac, Unix, and OS/2 systems.
