Sterling Industries, LLC

In July 1996, Sterling Industries, LLC was established as a manufacturing company in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The first operating division of Sterling Industries was the Access Division. The initial product of the Access Division (Access) was to be self-propelled scissor lifts. This product line was chosen because of the familiarity of several of the principles in scissor lift design, manufacturing, and marketing and in response to the request of several large equipment representative firms. The first model with all the latest features was designed, built and tested in the first six months of company operation. The first production models shipped in December 1996. Since that time Access has added eight (8) new models to the initial model 20 NE (20 foot platform height narrow chassis electric powered unit).

During the summer of 1998, Access started designing and building specialty scissor lifts to meet unique requirements at manufacturing facilities and for other industrial applications. The engineering strengths of the company have provided the basis for tackling customer specific applications where standard products do not meet the specifications.

Future plans include continual upgrading of present product line and adding new scissor lift models, such as all-terrain units, as well as a line of boom units.
