Tennant 830-II Sweeper Prominent In Snellville Beautification Program

The City of Snellville has recently acquired a new street sweeping machine as part of its "Take Pride in Snellville" effort to clean up business and residential districts. The Tennant 830-II sweeper is the largest and most powerful sweeper manufactured by the Tennant Company, Inc. of Minneapolis, MN. The unit will be used to clean streets and cut down on the buildup of debris in the street drainage system.

Shawn Dent, the Atlanta area representative for Tennant, delivered the 830-II on Monday and held a short training session for city personnel. "Municipalities all over the country have found that street cleaning and beautification programs enhance the quality of life and build community pride," says Dent. "With cleaner and more attractive business districts, the local economy benefits, and safety generally improves as well."

Dent says the Tennant 830-II is designed to efficiently pick up sand, dirt, rocks, broken glass and bulky light debris. Dust kicked up by the main brush is collected by twin, high-volume vacuum fans and filtered. The cab gives the operator an unobstructed view for greater sweeping accuracy and bystander safety. Four-wheel steering allows the machine to maneuver easily around obstacles, corners and heavy traffic. A 91/2-ft. (2.89 m) high-dump allows discharge into large roll-off bins and dump trucks, according to Dent.

For 129 years, Tennant Company has been a world leader in the surface maintenance equipment market. Its products include litter vacs, sweepers, scrubbers, extractors, buffers, floor coatings and full-service equipment support.
