Odin Systems International now offers our anti-icing engineering expertise to the aviation industry, building upon experience gained over the years in projects around the world designing automated anti-icing systems for highway applications. Odin's engineers have designed an automated anti-icing system for the Worlds Busiest Airport, O'Hare International in Chicago. The Odin AirGuardian is a fixed, liquid anti-icing system that sprays deicing agents directly onto the taxiway and runway to prevent snow and ice from adhering to the surface.

Designed as a safety tool, the Odin AirGuardian provides instant anti-icing without sending trucks to the site, thereby eliminating the time consuming shut down of critical runways and high-speed ramps. By operating the system by remote control, the AirGuardian frees airport operations to deploy manpower and trucks to other critical sites on the airfield, increasing safety and improving the level of service to the flying public, airport tenants, and service providers (ie. catering, maintenance etc,)

Designed for installation along the runway and taxiway, the piping system, nozzles pumps and controllers are all designed by Odin Systems to apply the liquid anti-icing chemicals with the proper coverage to provide positive braking action and full anti-icing capability on any length runway, taxiway or high-speed turn-off.

Since each project must be carefully engineered, the Odin team has developed a standard procedure to provide a project estimate for interested airport authorities. Odin engineers first review the detailed drawings of the site(s) to be considered for the AirGuardian, discuss prevailing weather and air traffic conditions at the site, prepare a preliminary "scope of work" report and then schedule a site visit. After inspecting site conditions, discussing the preliminary layout with operations, maintenance and airport management a detailed engineering recommendation is submitted, with a preliminary budget attached that includes pricing for Odin supplied system components and standard installation specifications for generating bid requests.

Odin offers complete design, installation supervision, commissioning, training and maintenance service, and has established a separate organization to serve the aviation industry
