The Delta III Series Traffic Classifiers, featured at the APWA Exposition in Las Vegas, are portable road tube classifiers that can be used to do simple volume counts or sophisticated multi-lane raw data studies.

There are four models in the series. Users can choose between two different front panels and two different housings. One front panel has a keyboard and display, which allows the user to enter study information in the field and monitor the data as it is recorded. The other front panel is simpler; the operator only has to hook up the road tubes and start the study by pressing the start button three times.

Four road tube support is standard. The operator can do axle counts in four lanes, or collect raw data to find true vehicle counts, speed, axle classification, gap, and per vehicle data in two lanes. Programmable airswitches allow the user to tailor the sensitivity and deadtime response of the tubes to the traffic.
