Traffic Data Collectors
What is the difference between the TDC-8, DB-400 and DB-100?
Both the DB-100 and DB-400 only do Turning Movement studies. The DB-100 has 16 keys for recording movements. The DB-400 has these same keys, with the addition of two 'Bank' keys which allow a total of 48 possible movements. These Bank keys allow you to classify three different types of vehicles (cars, light trucks, heavy trucks) while recording turning movements. The TDC-8 has the same capabilities as the DB-400 but will also do classification, gap, spot speed, signalized intersection delay, stop sign delay and travel time studies.
All units download to our PETRA software. The Travel Time studies done with the TDC-8 require the PC-Travel software program and a vehicle installed transmission sensor.
