Transportation Planning Studies
Each study generally includes an inventory of existing road and traffic conditions, a projection of future traffic, and an analysis of the transportation needs and road improvements required to serve a tribe's social and economic development needs. Maps are prepared showing existing land use and road conditions, existing and projected traffic flow, traffic accidents, school bus and postal routes, future land uses, and a proposed transportation network. The study process requires coordination with governmental agencies to develop a Transportation Improvement Plan (TIP), and a public involvement program to obtain input from the tribal community.
