Water utilities with pit applications can use the IMU two-way wireless communications system to replace the mechanical register head on new or existing water meters
Innovatecties with pit applications can use the IMU two-way wireless communications system to replace the mechanical register head on new or existing water meters. The system's Pit Antenna is connected through the pit cover, with antenna line placed near, but not attached to, the IMU. The antenna is hard-wired to the unit to eliminate risk of broken or kinked cables. This unit is solid-state with no moving parts, and the enclosure is manufactured with injection molded rigid-opaque PVC, welded for a watertight fit. All electronics are conformally coated to create a redundant layer of protection against water, petroleum or other corrosive elements in the pit. Full two-way communications between the utility and the meter is provided for monthly reads, final reads, special/customer reads, low-flow/leak alarms, tamper detection, and virtual shut-off.
